The story goes that there was this old lady named Kelli who sold this incredibly tasty snack under a tree. People from all across Manipur would gather around that tree just to get a taste of her chana. The interesting thing is, she never told anyone her recipe, not a single soul. When she passed away, it's believed that she took her recipe with her to the grave. After she was gone, many folks tried to recreate the magic of her chana, but they just couldn't get it right. No matter how hard they tried, it seemed impossible to make it taste exactly like what Kelli used to sell. So, her recipe remains a mystery, a delicious secret that only she knew. For Cooking Healthy & Tasty “Kelli Chana” Street style recipe at home, bowl overnight soaked chickpeas in a cooker with haldi, salt pressure cook properly. 2. Heat Saloni Mustard Oil in a kadhai, add onions and cook until they start turning lightly brown around the edges. Add the ginger and garlic & green chilli; cook for 1~2 minutes. 3. Add haldi powder, chilli flakes cook for few minutes, add chopped tomatoes, salt & cook until mushy. 4. Add boiled chickpeas, water & cook well.
