On the other hand, another member of the alliance, CPI, has chosen to wait for two more days to see if the Congress releases its final list of candidates. To avoid splitting anti-incumbency votes that might benefit the ruling BRS, both Left parties and Congress had initially planned for a formal alliance. However, after multiple rounds of discussions without reaching an agreement on seat distribution, CPM had set a deadline for Congress. With no response from Congress by Thursday afternoon, CPM, following a state-level meeting, announced in the evening that it would field candidates in 24 seats and revealed 17 seats from where the Left party candidates will contest.
